Because these oils are derived from animal sources, we choose to use either plant-based substitutions or high-quality synthetics to replace them as a cruelty-free option. The magical nature and the medicinal qualities of the plant is the expression of the personality of it's Deva. Magical oils are more than just a scent, like a perfume or an air freshener. They are a powerful combination of the distilled essences of roots, plants and resins that have been individually chosen for their magical properties. Each oil is chosen because it's energetic qualities can aid the magical working in a specific way. Blended together, they form a spiritual transcendence. The finished product, a delicate combination of essential oils, becomes more than the sum of its parts. Here at Madame Phoenix, utmost care is taken to work alchemically with the Will of the Devas, at the appropriate times of the month and year to produce oils that resonate with powerful and effective magical purpose. Because they are essential oils, care must be taken when using them; essential oils are absorbed by the skin and will have an effect on the physical body, as well as an energetic effect. Incense and burned offerings have been a primary offering to the Divine for the whole of human history. A powerful form of magic, an effective from of prayer- incense is an easy and enjoyable to use. There are multiple ways that incense can be burned: here you will find Loose Incense, which is designed to be burned on charcoal. You will find Stick Incense which can be burned on it's own. Loose incense is designed to infuse a space quickly and thoroughly with a specific scent and energy for a ritual or magical working. Stick incense is designed to produce a more subtle release of scent at a steady pace, and is great when you are working to set a specific energy tone in a room or house over a period of time (an hour or two). Because it releases far less smoke, stick incense is also often preferred in smaller rooms such as the bathroom or bedroom. Because it is the nature of incense to be inhaled, the properties of the incense become part of ourselves as we breathe them in. It is important to be aware of the differences between a synthetic scent and a natural scent; a synthetic scent may please the nose, but a natural scent will stimulate the mind, body and spirit according to the properties of the ingredients.
